AMERICA IS A COUNTRY OF SUCH DIVERSITY THAT YOU CAN RETURN AGAIN AND AGAIN AND STILL HAVE MORE PLACES TO EXPLORE

Spectacular scenery, fantastic food and top cultural sights are within easy reach of the Caribbean, South America and more, so it’s no wonder that 47,000 Brits took a North American cruise last year. And combining that with a land stay or overnight in some of the world’s best cities, including New York, Miami and Los Angeles, is becoming increasingly popular.

“America is a country of such diversity that you can return again and again and still have more places to explore,” says Jo Rzymowska, vice president and managing director UK, Ireland and Asia for Celebrity Cruises.

“Cruising is the ideal alternative to the traditional road-trip; between cities guests can enjoy everything their ship has to offer, such as restaurants, entertainment, the spa, the pool and bars. You can’t do that driving on the Interstate.”

Lynn Narraway, managing director UK & Ireland for Holland America Line, agrees. “Opting for a cruise that departs from the USA is a great way for UK travellers to spend more time enjoying must-visit destinations such as Cuba, the Caribbean and Alaska,” she says.

“With Holland America Line offering cruises sailing to and from cities including Florida’s gateway city Fort Lauderdale, San Francisco and Seattle, there is so much to discover after a cruise of a lifetime – or even before setting sail.”

Oceania Cruises’ senior vice president and managing director EMEA, Bernard Carter, also puts emphasis on the variety of American destinations available on a cruise. He says: “We offer itineraries throughout North America, including Alaska, Canada, New England and Hawaii, with options to add on luxury hotel stays and enriching and immersive tours, both pre- and post-cruise, in selected ports of call.”
