How do I initiate Sidecar mode in macOS Catalina to use my iPad as a second screen for my Mac? Clark Warren

1 Open preferences

Go to System Preferences and you will see the new ‘Sidecar’ preferences pane in between the familiar Displays and Energy Saver panes. Click on it to reveal more options.

2 Select device

Click on the menu under ‘Connect to’ and select your iPad. You will need to make sure that your iPad is connected to the same iCloud account as the Mac for it to be detected.

3 A second screen

When connected, your iPad should display the Catalina wallpaper. Take note of the cool sidebar and touch bar along the edges! You can now drag apps and windows between the two.
