The Govan Stones

In the 19th and early 20th centuries the parish of Govan, Glasgow, was dominated by shipbuilding, employing thousands in the shipyards lining the river Clyde. From its sturdy, municipal buildings most people might assume this was the district’s heyday. Most people would be wrong.
