You’re somewhat of a travel expert, having scouted out hotels across the globe. Where would you revisit time and time again?
I always find this so tricky to answer, because I have insatiable curiosity and rarely visit somewhere twice. But South Africa is somewhere that truly has it all; amazing beaches, stunning landscapes, divine food and wine and, of course, action-packed adventure on safari. I’ve been twice and already plotting another way to get back.
What has been your most memorable trip to date and why?
Last year we rented out a villa in Lucca, Tuscany, called L’Arancera di Villa Grabau for a family holiday. It was so much fun, eating pasta and drinking wine all week under the summer sun with my loved ones.
You’re also a professional photographer, what tips can you give to get the most out of your holiday snaps?
In my 13 years as a photographer, I find that the hardest part is staying inspired when taking photos. Particularly on holiday because there’s this fear to snap absolutely everything, but in doing that you miss what’s happening in front of you. I find if you put your phone or camera down and just take in the holiday, the right moments to shoot will present themselves. So just relax, enjoy what’s in front of you and shoot more quality over quantity. And consider the light – late afternoon
