Illustrating a book may seem a far-fetched ambition for most of us, yet opportunities such as The House of Illustration’s Book Illustration Competition mean anything is possible. Each year, the open competition challenges artists across the globe to imagine, invent and create characters and scenes from a particular work of fiction. For its ninth year, entrants are invited to illustrate Love Poems, selected and edited by Imtiaz Dharker, and compete for a £5,000 cash prize and the opportunity to illustrate a new edition of the book to be published by The Folio Society.
