1972 OLDSMOBILE 4-4-2
BODY
The 4-4-2 option was available on the Cutlass two-door hardtop or the Cutlass S sports coupe (has vent windows, side window frames, and a B-pillar) or hardtop. If you wanted a convertible 4-4-2, the upscale Supreme was the only choice. For 1972, the headlamp bezels and Rocket emblem featured black accents. The 4-4-2 grille colors were the inverse of 1971, now with silver in the mesh area and black on part of the surrounds, and the “442” number grille emblems were now red instead of black. The taillamp lenses were updated to a six-box segmented appearance.
ENGINE
The 160-hp L32 350 two-barrel (standard in Cutlass and Cutlass S) and 180-hp L34 350 four-barrel engines (standard in the Supreme), when fitted with dual exhaust, were uprated to 175 and 200 hp respectively. The L75 455 with 250 hp (with the M40)
