MMA MIGRATION: WHY MORE AND MORE CAGE FIGHTERS ARE SWITCHING TO PRO WRESTLING

OVER THE YEARS, several top pro wrestling stars have expressed interest in competing in mixed martial arts, including The Rock and The Undertaker. A few have even given it a shot, including Dave Bautista, CM Punk, and, most famously, Brock Lesnar.

But an unforeseen trend has developed as of late. Rather than having pro wrestlers try to prove their legit toughness inside the octagon, it’s been mixed martial artists who have sought to try their hand in the world of sports entertainment.

The question of how an Ultimate Fighting Championship competitor would fare in WWE was one of the key selling points of WrestleMania 34, where UFC’s onetime top draw, Ronda Rousey, teamed with Kurt Angle to defeat Triple-H and Stephanie McMahon.
