LEAVE IT TO a promotion named Black Label Pro—with a moniker that invokes the sight and sounds of legendary Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde and his band Black Label Society—to sanction a title event that exudes the spirit of heavy metal music. On June 1, Jake Parnell defended his Indiana State championship against Nate Webb in a “Listen To Iron Maiden, Baby” match in which the two combatants battled in a no-DQ contest as the music of Iron Maiden blared from bell to bell.
The match devolved into a brawl as Parnell and Webb battled all and found themselves briefly involved in the action when the competitors took turns using the brothers as living weapons to clobber one another. The men also clashed atop the merch tables, where guest of honor was seated among the vendors. At one point, Parnell even offered the former Horseman a chance to lay into Webb with a chop. Following that interlude, an impromptu basketball game broke out briefly between the champ and the challenger, which ended when the ref called a technical foul against Webb.
