PARTY OUT OF BOUNDS

NEW YORK’S HIGH Waisted were born on a dance floor when guitarist/front woman Jessica Louise Dye and drummer Jono Bernstein gyrated into each other’s paths.

“She said, ‘Hey, do you wanna go see Lou Reed?’” recalls Bernstein of the night the pair met. “I was like, ‘No I’m gonna get a slice of pizza.’”

“Lou Reed died two weeks later,” points out Dye.

“Well, the slice place is also gone now,” retorts Bernstein. “So in retrospect, it’s like we both got to see some of our favorites off!”

The easygoing camaraderie between the two friends is just one element of High
