Succulent and sun-warmed strawberries need no introduction. They’re the epitome of summer, when life is sweet – and so are the strawberries!

For a country so obsessed with these buxom berries you’d think we could do a lot better than the bland, sometimes wince-inducing bullets sold in the supermarkets. (And how often have you picked up a punnet only to discover half of them haven’t even fully ripened to red?).
