Having moved his FERRETTI 530 from the South of France to Rapallo, Italy, he was looking forward to many happy summers exploring the area. However, in October 2018 a text from his local boat guardian turned his world upside down. A freak storm had smashed the marina’s outer wall and destroyed the pontoons. Of the 400 boats berthed there 139 sunk while many more were ripped from their moorings. Relatively speaking, Edgar was one of the lucky ones. His boat’s bow line held firm but still took a terrible beating from stray boats and the pounding of the waves.
