British sailor Tony Curphey has claimed the record for the oldest person to sail around the world non-stop and unassisted.
The 74-year-old took the title from 73-year-old French skipper Jean-Luc Van den Heede, who came first in the 2018 Golden Globe Race. Curphey achieved the record while taking part in the Longue. It took him 308 days and was his fourth singlehanded circumnavigation around the world.
