THE ROUND ISLAND COUNTDOWN

The Round the Island Race is one of the most accessible races and with entry open until just three days before the start there is still time to sign-up for this iconic one-day event. Hosted by the Island Sailing Club in Cowes and supported by race partners Raymarine, MS Amlin, Helly Hansen and Chelsea Magazines, parent company of Yachts & Yachting, this is one of the largest yacht races in the world. Each year 1,400+ yachts and around 14,000 sailors take part, making it also one of the biggest sporting occasions in terms of the number of competitors in the UK behind other events such as the Simplyhealth Great North Run, Virgin Money London Marathon and the Prudential RideLondon.
