BRITISH YACHTING AWARDS: THE WINNERS
The British Yachting Awards puts the spotlight on the year’s most exciting new boats, the best sailors and the greatest innovations in sailing clothing and gear. Unique to these awards is the fact that the winners are chosen by you, the readers of our sister titles Yachts & Yachting and Sailing Today. The list of winners is therefore the best of the racing and cruising scenes, a celebration of every aspect of sailing, from professional racing, to club dinghy racing, to cruising in home waters and further afield.
We published our shortlist for each of the 12 categories two months ago and since then you have been voting on our dedicated awards website. Thankyou for all of the 21,700 votes you cast. It’s a record number for the British Yachting Awards – testament, surely, to the quality of boats, products and achievements highlighted in the shortlists. It has been a vintage year for sailing.
Over the next few pages you can see which won the greatest number of your votes.
Our final category, which we feature on page 24, is for Lifetime Achievement. This is not open to public vote but is a special award that we make in exceptional circumstances.
