Final descends into farce

African club competition Finals have previously produced some barely believable drama – like when a player cut himself to pretend he had been struck by an object from the crowd – but this year’s Champions League plummeted to new depths.

Officially, the outcome is still to be resolved after Morocco’s Wydad walked off the pitch 30 minutes from the end of the second leg in Tunisia, claiming a conspiracy over the Video Assistant Referee. Or, rather, the lack thereof.
