    90 Bonacquisti 2017 Cabernet Franc (Colorado). Cedar, black cherry, vanilla and cinnamon aromas are powerful on the nose, sprinkled with white pepper. Dusty tannins persist from start to finish, balanced by plenty of buoyant acidity. Flavors of cassis and pomegranate are blended with savory bay leaf, pepper, vanilla and tobacco. The tannins turn slightly gritty on the finish, bringing a robust charred oak flavor that’s paired with dark berries. Drink from 2020 so tannins have time to settle. Editors’ Choice. —F.A.
