Get it straight

Your February issue talks of the future of rugby. As an ardent fan of the game and having been born in Rugby and playing the game for 17 years, now at the age of 89, I watch as much rugby on TV as I can.

Yet I’m severely dissatisfied with the way that the rule of “putting the ball in straight” is totally ignored. The whole purpose of the scrum was to give both sides an equal chance to “strike and hook the ball to their side”.
