Vary your Touch for Control Over Envelope Triggering

Most synths these days offer selectable options for how their envelopes are triggered; either with every new note played (called multi-triggering), or only when your notes are played at least slightly separated. If they are played well-connected, the envelope won’t re-trigger, and will instead travel to the sustain level and stay there for the remainder of the phrase (usually called legato).
