ASHLEY MCBRYDE

In her school days back home in rural Arkansas, Ashley McBryde’s algebra teacher told her she’d never make it (hence her album title, Girl Goin’ Nowhere). More recently, Eric Church has called her a “whiskey-drinking badass”. But the most apt description of McBryde came from herself in a recent interview: “Bonnie Raitt and Loretta Lynn getting into a fight at a Waffle House.”
