THE threat of closure has been lifted from South Africa’s globally-acclaimed Sandstone Railway.
As reported in issue 256, only weeks after holding the International Sandstone Festival, the 2ft gauge railway’s operators sounded a shock warning about its future because of the country’s regulations which treated the narrow gauge line as if it was a main line railway.
