Birds of a Feather

"I have been privileged to have my quilts published in Quilters Companion for more than 12 years. I have had many, many quilts published and my Baltimore Blooms* ran as a five-part Sew-A-Long last year. Congratulations Quilters Companion and I hope to see many ‘hundreds’ more editions to follow! I think Quilters Companion is Australia’s best quilting magazine. It has provided me with the opportunity to showcase my quilts to a much wider audience of quilters and I’ve been very fortunate to have been a part of it for the last 12 years."

*Baltimore Blooms was judged the winner of the Quilters Companion Brother Hall of Fame.

The appliquéd medallion centre and the striped fabrics create a very charming quilt. Deborah’s favourite patchwork technique is needleturn appliqué, and her favourite design source is traditional Baltimore quilts. So she combined the two and created a . Vases are a timeless medallion-style centre and she has added another of her favourites — The use of the adds a lot of design to the quilt, with very little time-consuming piecing.
