A 107-year-old railway station that closed more than five decades ago is being given a new lease of life by owner Jim Pethullis, whose wife’s grandfather helped to build the line on which it was located.
The station, Thorganby, was on the Derwent Valley Railway’s standard gauge York Layerthorpe to Cliffe Common line. The route opened in two stages –
