or our second challenge, we needed to cross the River Dart. The ferry from the North Embankment takes several minutes and takes you to the end of the platform of Kingswear Station. The southern terminus of the Dartmouth Steam Railway, the station was opened in 1864 and became a heritage railway in the 1970s, in the aftermath of the Beeching cuts.
