Final Analysis
I love, and am passionate about photography. It has been my life (44 years and counting) and I am honoured to have been asked to contribute to this magazine on its 135th anniversary, albeit in a very small way.
I say I love photography, which is true, but I worry about what photography is becoming, and the picturelike they were shot on wet plate without having to pour gallons of noxious and poisonous chemicals down the drain. Everybody is getting extremely grumpy with anyone who is enthusiastically embracing the world of mobile photography Ω a world I myself am hugely enthusiastic about, and using the ‘P’ word that all mobile photographers get upset and defensive about (why don’t you shoot it on a camera). The lovers of cameras boasting a big red dot (which apparently adds many thousand pounds to the value of their equipment despite it being essentially the same) claiming that their fellow photographers’ equipment will match up to theirs no matter how good the photographs that come out of them. On and on it goes, ad nauseam.
