MATERIALS

• 80cm ( 7/8yd) feature print fabric – see note. Monica recommends medium-weight woven fabric such as 100% cotton, linen or linen/ cotton blends, ideally just a little heavier than cotton fabrics sold for quiltmaking

• 80cm ( 7/8yd) coordinating tone-on-tone print fabric (lining)

• 45 x 60cm (18 x 24in) sew-in foam interfacing, such as Bosal In-R-Form Sew-in Bag Interfacing

• 40cm ( 1/2yd) lightweight woven fusible interfacing

• 50cm (20in) open-end jacket zipper in a colour to coordinate with the feature print fabric

• 12.5 x 34cm (5 x 13 1/2in) template plastic (bag base) or similar – see note

• Double-sided washaway tape or fabric glue

• Decorative label/badge (optional) – see note

• Quilting (‘wonder’) clips (optional)

• Tracing paper

• All-purpose polyester sewing-machine thread to match the feature print fabric and the lining fabric

• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat

• Sewing machine with zipper foot

• Size 80 jeans sewing-machine needle

• General sewing supplies
