Raising the bar
eter Dench's (AP 7 September) about Rhiannon Adam's project on Randy Christian, stood out for me as being one of the closest to the spirit of Roger Hicks's regular contributions. Like Roger, Peter focused on a photo, but contextualised it with a real-life story. After reading the article I felt educated, and it left me wanting to find out more. For instance, I'd love to read Peter's dissertation on Dr Hugh Welch Diamond and his use of b&w photography in the treatment of 19th-century female lunatics.
