Huawei P30 Pro

The photographic capabilities of top-of-the-line smartphones in 2019 is nothing short of astonishing. It's no wonder that sales of compact cameras have completely nosedived – why carry two devices when one will do the job not just sufficiently, but in many cases exceptionally.

Over the years, various manufacturers have tried to capture our attention with their cameras. Apple, Samsung and Sony have all produced very good models, but it is Huawei that has grabbed the bulk of the attention in recent times (and not always for the right reason). Ever since the company teamed up with Leica in 2016, we continue to be impressed by Huawei's on-board cameras.

Huawei tends to have two ‘flagship' models at any one time – one in the Mate range, and one in the P range. Although both feature very good cameras, traditionally, the P range has been more firmly targeted at photographers.
