THE debate about the most famous train of all would be a long and heated one, but few would argue that ‘The Flying Scotsman’ would not be the favourite to win.
Not only is it one of the most iconic expresses in the world, it’s also one of the oldest, with a history dating back to June 1862, although the title had not been conferred on it at that time and, in fact, didn’t appear officially until as late as July 11, 1927.
