When the magic happens

‘My most vivid memory of my first time in the ocean was when I was about four years old whilst on holiday with my family on Rottnest Island in Western Australia,’ said Warren Keelan. ‘I was exploring the crystal-clear rock pools in front of my parents when for some reason I decided to step into one. The junior version of me couldn't swim at this stage, so I plunged to the bottom. It was literally only a few feet deep but it may as well have been the bottom of the ocean. I remember having my eyes open, looking up at the sky from below the surface and reaching up, feeling the dry air above the surface. Seconds later I was reefed up and out of the rock pool by my father who happened to watch everything unfold from just metres away.
