A TRUE TEST OF ENDURANCE

Okay, hands up. Who here gets a bit tired after a session or two on a trackday? Because we all did at one stage. Being ‘bike fit’ is a real thing, and even after 15 minutes in the saddle, riding to our limits will take its toll – I mean on a quick bike, there’s enough force to almost feel like you’re strapped to a bull that’s been laced with acid. Saying that though, the more seat time you get the more comfortable you feel, and being that me, Dangerous and Boothy spend a fair bit of time in the saddle, we decided that it would be a great idea to enter the No Limits Endurance series this year – and so far it’s been awesome. If you’ve been reading our ‘Race Riot’ pages you’d know that things have been going alright, but in typical Fast Bikes fashion we wanted more. And No Limits delivered.

Enter, the crown jewel of the endurance calendar: The Anglesey 10 hour, or the ‘Chuck Norris’ as it was affectionately renamed to represent the brutality on both man and machine. See, it’s not just your body that takes a battering – as a team, our stints will do a whole tank of fuel, which averages about 40 minutes, working out to be near enough three trackday sessions in one hit. To go and do that, on repeat without any rest, takes its toll, which means preparation, strategy and teamwork are the key.

See, if something goes wrong in a sprint race, you’ve only got yourself to be accountable for; if you crash in an endurance, you’re letting down your whole team. It’s a tough gig, which is why it’s also one of the most rewarding – the only thing sweeter than the success of making it to the
