Downsizing from a large Victorian-era property, Dr Ian Kronborg and his wife, Dr Anne Howard, sought to create a home that was ecologically sound and equally as flexible when it comes to space.

The duo wasted no time in clearing the land — a rat-infested fisherman’s hut that had occupied the space for more than 45 years — and beginning work on their creation, a standout home in the suburb of Port Melbourne.
