PUB TALK
It was a free weekend, with nowhere particular to go, so PUB wheeled out the rather neglected Wolverhampton-built vintage HRD for a ride, stopping by Jacks Café for a cup of tea. It turned out to be their sidecar, trike, and three-wheeler day, with a good turnout and more sidecars than one normally sees together. These included a Russian gun-toting outfit, a traditional float carrying a Speedway/Grasstrack solo, and a further machine best described as ‘indescribable’. All three classes were awarded prizes, although PUB had not noticed any ‘three-wheelers’, the definition of which she is not sure of. Her sadly missed Triking certainly qualified (it won a year or two ago), but whether the Bollée would be a trike or a three-wheeler she does not know. Perhaps she should take it sometime and find out?
The next weekend started not really with a rally, but the first VOC Spares Company AGM and open day for shareholders and club members, to be held at their own building. It was to be seen how well this would work now divorced from the AJS/Matchless operation, which used to bring a refreshing mix of faces along for the day, and
