Kev's chronicles - episode 7

1988 the LCGB was under the full leadership of Kev Walsh. Now free from his duties to the NSRA, the tension between himself and Jeff Smith was slowly residing. Now he could concentrate on taking the club forward, and after the successful rallies that year the club was stronger than ever. Talk now switched to the future and after the epic run from John O'Groats to Land’s End, members were keen to go one better. Rumours had been spreading for a while that there were plans for a Euro Lambretta to be held. What better way for the members to go one better than by venturing on to the European mainland? Nothing had been done like this since the 1960s when trips by the club were a regular occurrence. With the LCGB being by far the biggest club and the most long-standing, it was inevitable they would play a major part with Kev being at the centre of it all. Problem was, in reality, that statement couldn't be any further from the truth.
