A matter of development

It isn’t often in magazine world that we get our hands on a bike which has been featured in the press of the past. There are plenty of ‘similar to’ models, but the actual one is a rarity.

It was actually by a total off-chance we got to look at the 440 Maico belonging to Bryn Richards’ brother Gary. The bike we originally went along to see was the ex-Jim Sandiford ISDT Triumph team bike, and during the course of our conversation Bryn mentioned there was a 440 Maico which could be photographed if we liked? We liked, so, out it was wheeled pics taken and a brief bit of info scribbled onto a notepad with the comment it had been a bike used by Welsh enduro star Geraint Jones before
