The tables turned

As questions go it’s a pretty innocuous one to ask, after all everyone knows what their favourite motorcycle of all time is don’t they? It is a question which has produced some surprising answers when I’ve quizzed owners about their bikes for features and proves just how wide ranging the off-road world is.

Whenever the question is posed there is always a moment of panic in whoever is being asked to point the finger and say “that’s my favourite bike of all time…” Answers go from “now you’re asking…” to “what? Just one?” and all points in between. All great fun and harmless... and just because we’re all nosey.

So, this was all well and good until the day someone bounced the question back at me and said: “What’s your favourite bike then?” I couldn’t answer…

Several times I started to speak then stopped, beads of perspiration appeared on my forehead as thoughts bounced around the inside of my head… well there’s the… but wait a minute, there’s… no, it has to be… and it dawned how difficult a question I’d been asking people. It also dawned how many people had answered the question but tagged on the end “…next week s answer might be different…” So having been put on the spot with my own question thoughts kept
