St. Simons Island, the largest of Georgia’s Golden Isles, offers respite from the slow-to-thaw temperatures of the north, without the excessive traffic that typically inundates tropical locales. Situated halfway between Savannah and Jacksonville, it promises agreeable weather almost year-round.
