GROWING BACK TO BASICS

Prue Leith’s culinary career is somewhat of a marvel. Johannesburg-born Leith has been a constant presence in the food industry ever since she first opened up her eponymous, Michelin-starred restaurant in 1969. She’s also found the time to pen a number of fiction books, open Leith’s School of Food and Wine for budding gastronomes, and even had a brief – and admittedly “unsuccessful” – stint as a greengrocer!

And now she is, of course, part of the biggest baking show in TV history: The Great British Bake Off.
