Does it all sound too hard? Mercifully, modern design has a way out for the lazy among us. Industrial and rustic designs are increasingly ducking the concept of a splashback all together, instead utilising exposed brick for a delicious homely feel.
Certainly, it’s an idea that comes with loads of advantages. Brick is its own accent wall and lends lush warmth to any room, and is always especially welcome in a key family living and dining space. Those chasing country chic (or those not especially fond of brown) will be happy to hear that brick can be easily painted, with white and soft grey popular among designers.
That said, don’t sign up without thinking it over, especially if you’re someone who likes to change their mind often. Removal can require a structural overhaul, so make sure you’re sure!
