Tripod Buying Guide

A few main factors that come into play are size, weight, stability, portability, ease of use and type of head. These are often mostly linked.

You need a tripod for many areas of photography. While you are able to handhold a camera effectively for various speeds, a tripod can make for a sharper image, especially at the slower shutter speeds and for longer time exposures. Tripods can also assist in framing your photo correctly. When documenting your artwork you can get a better result when using a tripod as it will be easier to line up the edges correctly and ensure there is a minimum amount of distortion.
