• Creative Art double thick canvas
• Atelier Interactive Universal Varnish
• Atelier Interactive Liquefying Medium
• A dagger stripper paint brush ½ inch and a ¼ Tolemaster
• One inch flat brush
• Various smaller flat brushes #12 - #8
STEP ONE
I begin by looking closely at my subject and make a list of the colours needed for the painting. Knowing that my undercoat is already unbleached titanium (a greyish colour) I know that I have my mid-tone note already on the canvas. So I’m observing, and looking for the highlight colours, and the shadow colours. I’m also looking for my blocking colours (which create the first layer of the work) and my detail colours (which are the colours that go on last). I make a ‘puddle’ of
