Bonneville Bound Kiwi Coupe

“Kiwis don’t fly, but they can run fast” is a statement which was tested on August 11 as Dunedin’s Owen Jones and Chris Barnes from Riverton faced Bonneville’s Short Course for the first time with their 1934 Plymouth Coupe Land Speed Car. Taking turns in the cockpit, the pair planned to equal the coupe’s previous top speed of 201mph and perhaps even challenge the record of 263mph for the B/GCC class in which they are entered at the Utah Salt Flats event.
