This can be done using various means, for instance by using a Mityvac or its very much cheaper alternative – a large syringe – or perhaps forcing the fluid up from the bleed nipple to fill the master cylinder reservoir. The conventional way seems to work well enough, i.e. by connecting a flexible pipe to the bleed nipple and opening the nipple while operating the brake lever.
