    The RCTS: then and now

    THE RCTS was formed in September 1927 by a group of enthusiasts in Cheltenham Spa as the Cheltenham Spa Railway Society.

    By the end of the following January the current name had been adopted.

    From the outset a regular news-sheet was circulated among members, which evolved into the Railway Observer,
