New-builds and complex restorations – is it all a bit late?

THE current feverish activity in creating a dozen or so‘new-builds’at vast expense, as well as numerous re-builds of existing steam locomotives, begs the question: ‘Is it all too late?’

The railway is expanding and progressing fast with large numbers of new trains and rolling stock coming on stream in the period to 2023.
