The Gixer ’thou’s impressive debut at last year’s SBOTY surprised us all, but since seeing it come of age with superstock, superbike and TT wins to its name, there was a greater expectation that it would make this year’s podium. Dressed in its sexy new garb and sporting 2018-spec enhanced front brakes, the big question was whether it had what it took to stand on the top step of the podium at Navarra… which obviously didn’t happen.
