Never place a plug and play kettle on a flaming gas hob. I arrived at Donington just in time to catch the aftermath of mechanic Brian’s fiery faux pas, which had me pissing myself and left the whole lorry littered with soot. Who does that? Well, apart from Brian. Donington was always destined for excitement, being the final round of the year, and it was set to deliver from the outset. Following a night of torrential rainfall the track was wetter than a fish as I made my way out for a mediocre qualifying stint in the Pirelli Super Series 600 class.
