FANS’ FAVOURITE TO STAR AT NEWARK
In a career which goes back to the early 1990s, when a teenage Rutter took to the track following in his famous father Tony’s footsteps, Michael has amassed an amazing 14 North West 200 wins, an unequalled eight Macau victories and five Isle of Man TT wins – and he is still on winning form in the BSB Superstock class.
Due to his laid-back and modest approach to his sport, Michael has always been a fans’ favourite and he is guaranteed to share some great stories during his stage appearances at Newark Showground over the weekend of January 6/7, 2018 – not just about his own career but what it was like growing up with a legendary racer for a father.
Mortons Media Group’s exhibition manager, Nick Mowbray said: “We’ve worked hard over the past five years to establish the Carole Nash Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic as the official start to the classic year, and this time we’re really pulling out all the stops.
“Due to the high demand from clubs and trade alike, two new halls have been added, making for the largest show in this fantastic event’s short history.”
Scooters and the scooter scene have always formed an important part of the show and for January 2018 the scooter halls will feature a Mods and Rockers theme. Mau Spencer, editor of Classic Scooterist, who has helped to grow the niche area of the show, said: “If everything goes to plan, it looks like this could be the biggest and best Scooter World ever. We are adding various interactive attractions to keep everyone entertained.
“I’m particularly looking forward to the new Mods and Rockers show theme, and would encourage as many people as possible to dig out the slick suits or scruffy leather jackets and join in the fun!”
The show is the perfect opportunity to explore the hundreds of classic bikes on display and offers the chance for restorers to pick up a brand-new project to start in 2018, or find the parts and spares to complete a restoration.
