Inside your espresso machine, there are numerous components that work together to process the water that flows into your machine and flows out as steam, hot water or espresso. At each end of that process sits a gatekeeper – a solenoid valve that dictates when and how that water will enter or exit the espresso machine. These tiny electromagnetic valves are key to controlling the water, or ultimately the functionality of your machine.

There are two types of solenoid valves in your coffee machine – your control solenoids and your outlet solenoids.
