After several years of Lambretta ownership, the inevitable would happen – you’d tune the engine. Like so many others you did everything possible to squeeze every last bit of power out of these Italian shopping bikes. Everyone was attempting it one way or another; for some it was just a case of fitting a bigger carburettor and expansion pipe, the old bolt-on power philosophy. For the rest, it was a much more intense affair with porting of the barrel either in the shed at home or by a shop offering stage ten million or something to lure the customer in.
