You change up when the tacho needle reaches six and keep the throttle wide open. In that situation, Laverda’s 981cc triple poses a compelling question. Cyril Ayton, Motorcycle Sport’s editor, observed this phenomenon in 1984 and noted how the triple was more suited to the seasoned cyclist.
